Dear members of the CIVICA communities, Dear partners and colleagues,
Welcome to the first newsletter of CIVICA Research, a project of CIVICA - The European University of Social Sciences!
We are excited to launch the newsletter following a momentous first year for our project. In 2021, we laid the groundwork for a joint research agenda with transformational impact. We began work on an R&I infrastructure rooted in the social sciences, transnational exchanges, open science, inclusiveness, and a long-term approach. We selected for funding 11 collaborative research projects that gather top expertise from our alliance. We launched a postdoctoral mobility scheme and hosted the first snowball seminars, Open Access roundtable, international doctoral conference, and hackathon.
In 2022, we will step up these efforts, fully convinced that a deeper collaboration in research makes our society better prepared for current and emerging challenges. We will continue to expand our offer of transnational research opportunities and events. The collaborative research projects will contribute their first findings for the benefit of European and global research communities, policymakers, civil society and citizens.
Whether you are a PhD, postdoc, researcher, faculty or staff of our alliance, an external partner, policymaker or engaged citizen, you will find something relevant among our current and planned CIVICA Research activities.
To keep up to date with our work, I invite you to: —Guillaume Plantin, Vice President for Research, Sciences Po, Scientific Coordinator of CIVICA Research and Co-chair of the Permanent Design Team
