First CIVICA doctoral summer school tackles European integration Hosted on 6-9 September at the European University Institute in Florence, the summer school allows PhDs from across CIVICA to network with leading scholars, take part in tailored panels, and engage in an interdisciplinary dialogue about EU scholarship. CEU hosts CIVICA training on inclusion in the student body In November, Central European University will host a CIVICA workshop “Inclusion in the Student Body” at its Vienna campus for academic and administrative staff from the alliance to share best practices and develop an action plan for improving inclusion at member universities. European collaboration success for CIVICA In June, 40 undergraduate students from CIVICA members took part in the first edition of the CIVICA European Week, organised by the Stockholm School of Economics. The students worked with local companies to promote knowledge of household finance. Read>>

Winners of first CIVICA research call Eleven cutting-edge projects have been selected for funding in CIVICA’s first call for collaborative research proposals, from a total of 27 applications. Exploring crucial issues such as inequality, democracy, populism or sustainable transitions, the projects will showcase their first results in early 2022. Read>>

Second season of CIVICA podcast Over to Europe launches on 24 September
The first season of Over to Europe brought together students, researchers and faculty from our alliance to discuss relevant topics for today's Europe. In season two, we talk to researchers from the eight CIVICA universities to bring you cutting-edge European research in the social sciences. Thanks to the recently-launched project CIVICA Research, the alliance will deepen its collaboration in research around key societal challenges.

Save the date 28 October 2021 | 5:30-7:30pm CETOnline @ Sciences Po Climate Change and the EU: From Evidence to Action Prior to the COP26 UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, Sciences Po will host a conversation between CIVICA students and researchers, and contributors from all over Europe on the impact of climate change on local communities. They will discuss the regional, national and international proposals to mitigate and adapt to climate realities.
