CIVICA Engage Track
The CIVICA Engage Track: A brand new bachelor experience

Offered by CIVICA members Stockholm School of Economics, Bocconi University, Sciences Po, and The London School of Economics, the CIVICA Engage Track is a multi-campus, interdisciplinary bachelor experience with a focus on civic engagement.

Students can take specific CIVICA Engage courses, participate in the CIVICA European Week, work with local organisations, engage hands-on with local communities, and share experiences with fellow students from all over Europe.

CIVICA PhD Course CatalogueCIVICA’s newly-launched Early Stage Researcher Course Catalogue

Early stage researchers attending CIVICA member institutions have a new resource for research training: the Early Stage Researcher Course Catalogue.

This online tool brings together the courses CIVICA universities offer to doctoral and postdoctoral researchers across the alliance. It allows researchers to browse course descriptions and syllabi, and to apply for admission to the courses of interest.

CIVICA PhD Summer SchoolCIVICA Summer School for doctoral researchers

PhD researchers from CIVICA universities can apply for a Summer School on "European integration in historical and contemporary perspective," held at the European University Institute in Florence on September 6-9, 2021.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage in an interdisciplinary dialogue about EU scholarship and receive feedback on their own research project and approach.

Call for research proposals CIVICA Research launches with call for research proposals

Funded by the EU's Horizon 2020 programme, CIVICA Research complements our alliance's education strategy. Its aim is to develop a European research and innovation environment, enabling our researchers to collaborate and to benefit from shared tools and practices.

CIVICA Research activities kicked off with our alliance's first Call for Research Proposals. Faculty and (post-doctoral) researchers at CIVICA universities are invited to submit proposals for collaborative research projects under one of CIVICA's four core themes.

CIVICA Public Lecture SeriesLaunch of CIVICA Public Lecture Series Tours d'Europe

Hosted in turn by each member university, the CIVICA Public Lectures Tours d'Europe are designed to reaffirm CIVICA's role as 'a university for all'.

The series launched on 15 February with an event on "Democracy in the Time of Pandemic" hosted virtually by Central European University. Four experts from CIVICA universities presented their latest research on democracy and the pandemic to the general public. The presentations were followed by a panel discussion and a Q&A with the audience.

  • [BA / MA / PhD] The Bocconi students’ association European Generation invites fellow students from CIVICA universities to get involved in the European Youth Debate 2021, a three-day forum where students passionate about the EU from all over the world can propose concrete suggestions for the Union’s future. EYD 2021 will be held online on 16-18 April, on the following topics: EU: A global player, Research & Health, European recovery, Speaking European. Applications open on 1 March. Read more>>

More than 30 students are currently hard at work finishing their ‘Report on the Future of Europe.’ The students are reflecting on some of the EU's major challenges, with the aim of engaging young Europeans in actively shaping the policy debate. The Report will be presented to high-profile figures from European institutions and academia later this year.

Public Sector Digital Transformation
In October-December 2020, CIVICA held a PhD Seminar Series on Public Sector Digital Transformation, organised by Hertie School’s Centre for Digital Governance and Bocconi University’s Department of Social and Political Sciences.

Top researchers presented their current work on topics such as innovation, AI, digital governance, ethics, to an audience of CIVICA scholars and PhD researchers.
